Figuring what to wear for Halloween each year can become quite the ordeal. The next set of our Halloween insights focuses on which types of costumes are most appealing and whether people even get their pets into the Halloween spirit.

Nearly half are happy to dust the cobwebs off a timeless Halloween costume (48%), while 38% prefer to don an of-the-moment outfit, inspired by pop culture or current events. The remaining 15% will wear whatever their friend group/spouse/significant other makes them wear (led by males).

As for the pop culture costumes, those surveyed are most on the lookout for Stranger Things inspired getups (45%), followed by Game of Thrones attire (40%).

Seven-in-ten of our respondents own a cat or dog. Of this group of pet owners, 46% have dressed their pet up for Halloween at least once (15% do this every year).
