With so much excitement around the big game, we reached out to 1,200 of our members who plan to watch this year’s Super Bowl, whether at home or at a party, to get a sense of how they will be participating.

We’ve found almost half of fans surveyed plan to spend $30 or more on food and beverages for the game.

Of those who plan to purchase alcohol, 86% will be spending their money on beer, specifically Bud Light and Craft Beer (32-33%), Corona ( 26%), and Budweiser (20%). While beer is in the cards for fans of both teams, those rooting for the 49ers plan to purchase more Heineken than those rooting for the Chiefs.

But beer isn’t the only hot item on people’s list! People also plan to buy chips and dips, pizza, and chicken wings to snack on during the game.

Less common are ice cream and baked goods…it looks like salty snacks are the way to go this year!

Let’s not forget, there’s a game to watch while you’re eating all of those snacks! While there’s no clear favorite team, 54% of those surveyed will be pulling for the Chiefs, with males more likely to follow the game “very closely”.
