C onsumer rewards brand Swagbucks and its parent company Prodege are putting some swagger into their business today with news that they’ll be acquiring Los Angeles-based startup SodaHead, which specializes in buzzy online polls.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed, but Chuck Davis, chief executive officer of Swagbucks tells me the two companies, both in the Los Angeles area, are a good fit, and that the SodaHead site will live on with its founders and engineering team simply moving into Prodege headquarters.
“We saw how engaged users are with our polls, and we met and hit it off with the founders of SodaHead,” Davis said. “We thought we can put a little more propane into their business, and give our community more of what they like already through SodaHead.”
