Alex Keefe, Director, Client Solutions, Shopper Marketing, may have joined the Prodege team during an unprecedented time but she feels grateful to work alongside a welcoming, hardworking, and empathetic team. “I most love that our team is small and scrappy. We are working on a newer stream of revenue for the company, however we have the backing of a few successful and proven lines of business. In my role, I am working with clients and to help bring them solutions and great service as they partner with us. Building those relationships is extremely important to me, and is something that I love about my job. Beyond those external relationships, I work with our internal teams and partner with stakeholders across many different areas of the business. As a company, I have been amazed at the response from leadership in reaction to COVID-19. Their first goal is always to support employees however they can, and there has been a lot of empathy and understanding from leadership about the adjustments to our new way of working. There has also been a level of transparency and humility that has been great. The whole company is coming together to support one another during this different and unique time in our world.”

When it comes to working remotely, Alex has a very streamlined process full of easy recommendations to implement. “I always build a rough schedule for the days of the upcoming week on Sunday or on Friday before I sign off for the day. Start by noting key deliverable dates, and you can build other to-dos and the rest of your schedule around that. Add some structure to your day by creating calendar invites for key to-dos on given days. Learn your habits, strengths, and weaknesses so that you can structure your day accordingly. If you are more productive in the morning or late at night, you can build your day around that. This is one of the beauties in our new way of working remotely during COVID-19! It is important to always look for those silver linings wherever we can find them. Stay connected with your coworkers by having weekly 1:1s with those people you work with most closely, and for fun, schedule virtual happy hours with coworkers. Oh, and make your bed when you wake up before starting any work– it helps with creating a better home work environment, and getting into a made bed at the end of the evening is the best way to end the day and start your sleep time!”

Alex also feels lucky to have a husband and dog who provide companionship during the solitary days. “We try to come up with small tasks for each week/weekend so that we can be productive and then reward ourselves by doing an outdoor activity or watching a new TV show or movie at home. We’ve also enjoyed making new recipes and cooking so much at home! We try to cook every night during the week, and then Friday evenings is our break to order-in from a local restaurant that we want to support.”

When asked what she looks forward to once a sense of normalcy resumes, Alex has a thoughtful response: “I’m excited for all of the essential workers (doctors, nurses, grocery store employees, etc.) to get a bit more of a break. They have all been working so incredibly hard!”

Speaking of getting time to unwind, what will holiday gifting and traditions look like this year?
