Passion for Compassion: 30 Tech Companies that Give Back
News - August 7th, 2019
It's easy for any company to get lost in the bottom line. After all, the quarterly or yearly numbers are what keep businesses afloat. So it's pretty special when organizations add a few other key objectives to the plan like care, compassion and community.
Companies that give back and offer employees the chance to do the same are becoming increasingly common in the tech industry. Whether it's paid volunteer days or company-wide fundraisers for important causes, businesses all over the country are creating programs and policies that encourage the better angels of their employees.
To give you an idea of the work that's being done, Built In has rounded up 30 companies in some of the nation's largest tech hubs that have gone the extra mile to grow the compassionate, human side of their mission.
CAN YOU TALK ABOUT SOME OF THE CURRENT VOLUNTEER EFFORTS YOUR COMPANY IS INVOLVED IN, OR OTHER WAYS YOU EMPOWER THE TEAM TO GIVE BACK TO THE COMMUNITY?
“At Prodege, we’re passionate about giving back to our communities and we strongly believe that charitable giving and volunteering is one of the greatest things we can do personally and as a company. Employees are given $200 a year to donate to a charity of their choice.
We have also partnered with Children’s Hospital Los Angeles in the past by supporting their Make March Matter program as well as offering volunteer opportunities for employees with CHLA’s Companies for Kids program. We also support and partner with Mychal’s Learning Place, an organization that works with children and adults with developmental disabilities.” - Josef Gorowitz, Founder + President.
