New Data also reveals that ‘tell it like it is’ moms are popular on TV and in real life.

LOS ANGELES – May 7, 2019 – Mother’s Day is upon us, and it turns out that many American moms are hoping their loved ones will spring for a tech gift, even though that may be a bit untraditional.

A new survey by Swagbucks, a rewards and loyalty-program company operated by Prodege, LLC, took a look at which gadgets are at the top of Mom’s wish list this year and which famous and expectant moms they like the most. The national survey of 1,000 U.S. adults was conducted online by Prodege in April 2019.

Mom wants tech, but will she get it?
Three-quarters of American moms would be excited to receive a tech gift for Mother’s Day this year. Among these moms, the most coveted gifts are a smartwatch (26%) or some new headphones (18%).

Is it likely that Mom will get a smartwatch for Mother’s Day? Survey says: only if it’s on sale.

  • 6 in 10 buying Mother’s Day gifts for one person will spend less than $50
  • For those buying Mother’s Day gifts for two or more people, 72% plan to spend less than $100 in total

“Swagbucks makes it fun and easy to earn and save money while shopping for all kinds of gifts,” said Chuck Davis, CEO and Chairman of Prodege, LLC. “Now is the perfect time to save up Swagbucks with Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, graduation and summer travel on the horizon. No matter who you’re shopping for, Swagbucks is the partner you need to get the best deals.”

#RealMotherhood
Motherhood is the most rewarding, yet also the hardest job in the world. That’s why it’s so relatable when moms keep it real and honest. So, it’s no surprise that the favorite TV and real-life moms among respondents are those who don’t sugarcoat anything.

When it comes to TV, even though That ‘70s Show hasn’t aired a new episode in more than a decade, Kitty Forman is one of the most revered TV moms among American men, while Lorelai Gilmore emerges as a standout for women:

Favorite TV Moms

American men
1. Kitty Forman, “That ‘70s Show”
2. Carol Brady, “The Brady Bunch”
3. Claire Dunphy, “Modern Family”

American women

Kristen Bell surfaces as the favorite celebrity mom among both genders, while Duchess Meghan Markle is the expectant celebrity they are most excited to see join the mom club. Another 24% look forward to seeing Amy Schumer, who currently has a “baby on board,” take on motherhood.
