With many curious as to when Amazon would reschedule Prime Day, it’s now a lock for October 13 & 14. With this proximity to the holiday season, we were curious to understand how Prime Day shopping strategies may evolve.

Our recent survey of 1,002 Amazon Prime members in the US shows that the majority plan to “definitely” or “probably” make a purchase during this upcoming savings event (56%). Most of the remainder (41%) indicate they’ll buy something if there’s “a good deal on something I want.”

As for whether Prime Day will kick holiday shopping into high gear, half indicate it’s likely they will buy holiday presents and another 39% say they will “primarily look for myself, but if I see a gift at the right price, I may buy.”

Regardless of when they do their holiday shopping, Amazon will remain top-of-mind; two-thirds of those we surveyed plan to buy at least half of their holiday gifts on Amazon.

How will our consumers outside of the US approach holiday gifting and gatherings? We’ll explore this topic in an upcoming post!
