As part of our Women in the Workplace study, we were intrigued to determine which female TV bosses are admired by working women and the character traits that resonate most.
From a list of seven iconic TV bosses, working women foremost spotlight Detective Olivia Benson (Law & Order: SVU) as a role model. She earned this accolade because she’s calm under pressure, empowers other women, and is relentless in achieving her goals.
The runner-up? Dr. Miranda Bailey (Grey’s Anatomy), who women admire for different reasons than Olivia Benson. Dr. Bailey stands out for being well respected and good at juggling her priorities.
Secondarily, Pawnee’s own Leslie Knope is appreciated for her relatability and tenacity in achieving her goals. Finally, some respect “fixer extraordinaire” Olivia Pope for her abilities to crush her goals and stay calm under pressure.
