The past few months have seen destruction from natural disasters in various parts of the US, including the current wildfires blazing through California wine country. Have these recent events caused a whirlwind of worry that’s being channeled into emergency preparedness? We recently surveyed 1,407 Americans aged 18+ to gauge their concerns on this relevant topic.
Gen Z and Millennials are most apt to be “very” or “somewhat” concerned about the likelihood of a natural disaster happening near them within the next year (48-49%), with Boomers least worried (33%). By region, those in the Westernmost states are most worried (56%), while those in the Midwest are least apt to feel this way (29%).
Gen Z is translating their concerns into planning, emerging as the generation most likely to already have an emergency evacuation plan in place (51%).
